Background
For many years I worked in Computing Service positions, but joined
the School of Computer Studies at the University of Leeds in 1990
as Senior Research Engineer. I took up a lectureship in Computer
Science at the University of Hull in 1997 and was promoted to senior
lecturer in 1999. In 2005 I was invited to become a member of the
Numerical Algorithms Group Ltd.
