Promotion of Independent Research  (under construction)

As of Jun 2003, I would have the privilege of becoming an independent researcher once again.  This time I will have a pension to fund my curiosity-led research.  There are, however, many others who could make a significant contribution to the advancement of knowledge with some modest support and encouragement, such as that provided to me by the University of Hull during the period Oct 1979 to Jan 1986.  This sub-web will be extended to celebrate the work of past and present independent research workers (IRW), and to provide pointers to known sources of support.  Some papers on this theme are included to lift the morale of IRW and to solicit the support of others sympathetic to this campaign.
