Welcome to the website of the Cartographic Information Systems Research Group which was active in the Department of Computer Science, University of Hull, from June 1985 until June 2003.
The CISRG comprised of members of staff and research students who shared an interest in cartography, maps and information technology. It was established in the University in 1985 and was led by Dr. Mahes Visvalingam. The group launched its Discussion Paper Series, edited by Dr M Visvalingam, in 1986. To date it has published 19 Discussion Papers and 3 Special Issues; the latter on projects sponsored by the Ordnance Survey.
